Cruz Blanca Flood Relief
On August 7th, 2021, a strong storm hit Cruz Blanca, Guatemala, causing damage to the community and our Learning Center buildings and pipe system. Please prayerfully consider financially helping our VisionTrust Cruz Blanca Learning Center.
FLOOD RELIEF SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES: • We have identified 80 families that were most affected by the storm due to insecure housing. The VisionTrust Guatemala staff desire to make two 12-foot pieces of high caliber tin roofing available to each family affected so that they can stay safe in upcoming storms. The ministry would like to offer these materials at a greatly reduced cost, or for free in exchange for volunteering time to help repair flood damage at the Learning Center. This will empower families to improve their homes, and any funds that can be contributed locally will be utilized for paint and other materials necessary for building repairs post storm. Total cost: $62.50USD per family (80 families = $5,000USD total)
FLOOD RELIEF SUPPORT FOR THE LEARNING CENTER: • Finalizing the perimeter wall on the property is a high need, and the drainage system must be completed to accomplish this project. The water collector box destroyed in the flood needs to be rebuilt, and the trenching and piping need to be completed. Total cost to replace labor & materials destroyed in the flood: $3,500USD
