Oscar lives with his family in this impoverished area of Cruz Blanca. When he isn’t helping his family with gathering firewood or cleaning, Oscar enjoys playing soccer and running. There are many complex issues in this community. Educational opportunities are limited, inflation is high and community resources are inadequate. Your sponsorship will make it possible for Oscar to attend the Learning Center where he will receive tutoring, food and learn of Jesus’ love for him. Your love and support will help Oscar receive the assistance he needs to develop to his full potential. Hundreds of Mayan children in the village of Cruz Blanca lack the resources to attend public school. They try to help their families by working at a young age, hindering their chance for a better future. VisionTrust partners with the Cruz Blanca Learning Center to provide these children with tutoring in math, Spanish, reading and vocational skills. The Learning Center serves children five days a week, providing them with a Christian education, nutritious food, and the love of God.
