Edmar Alonso Chin Garcia
Like many boys his age, Edmar is very active. He enjoys running and playing soccer. Edmar lives with his family in this impoverished area of Cruz Blanca. He often helps with the many chores which need to be accomplished. The typical home has walls made of cement blocks, with a tin roof and dirt or cement floors. Issues such as drugs, and gang related problems, make life more complex. Your sponsorship will make it possible for Edmar to attend the Learning Center where he will receive tutoring, food and learn of Jesus’ love for him. Your love and support will help Edmar receive the assistance he needs to develop to his full potential. Please remember to pray for Edmar as he learns to live for God and love others because he is worth more than the poverty he was born into.

Hundreds of Mayan children in the village of Cruz Blanca lack the resources to attend public school. They try to help their families by working at a young age, hindering their chance for a better future. VisionTrust partners with the Cruz Blanca Learning Center to provide these children with tutoring in math, Spanish, reading and vocational skills. The Learning Center serves children five days a week, providing them with a Christian education, nutritious food, and the love of God.
