Annelys lives with her family in Ensanche Altagracia. Annelys’s household chores include cleaning, running errands and carrying water. When time permits she enjoys riding bicycles, drawing and playing with dolls. The living conditions are difficult with most homes having only two rooms. The typical home is constructed from block and has a tin roof. The common social problems in this community are illiteracy, unemployment, drugs, and alcohol. Through your sponsorship, Annelys will be able to attend school where she will receive an education, basic medical care, food, and Bible lessons in a warm caring environment. Annelys attends Bible classes and learns that she is worth more than the poverty into which she was born. Please remember to pray for Annelys.

This program was started because children in the community Ensanche Altagracia wandered the streets alone while their parents worked. The influence of local gangs, prostitution and drugs is strong on these children. VisionTrust’s Local Heroes now serve children ages preschool to 6th grade. Parent meetings have also been initiated to include them in how their children are growing and begin to share the love of God with the whole family.
