Andy lives in Ensanche Altagracia with his family. In this community, the typical home is built out of block with a tin roof. Most homes only have two rooms for the entire family. These homes receive water only three times per week. When Andy is not busy helping take out the trash or running errands, he can be found playing with cars, or playing group games with the other children. In this community, drugs, illiteracy, and unemployment all present challenges that make daily life more difficult. Through your sponsorship Andy will be able to attend school where he will receive an education, basic medical attention, food, and Bible lessons in a warm caring environment. This program was started because children in the community Ensanche Altagracia wandered the streets alone while their parents worked. The influence of local gangs, prostitution and drugs is strong on these children. VisionTrust’s Local Heroes now serve children ages preschool to 6th grade. Parent meetings have also been initiated to include them in how their children are growing and begin to share the love of God with the whole family.
