Areli Cesia lives with her family in the impoverished area of Ayacucho, Peru. Areli Cesia is often busy helping her parents by cleaning, washing clothes and running errands. When time permits, she enjoys riding playing basketball and other group games. In this community, the typical home is constructed from mud or cement, with a tile roof and a mud or cement floor. Areli Cesia lives in an environment where malnutrition, alcoholism, and child abandonment are common social issues. Your sponsorship will make it possible for Areli Cesia to attend the Learning Center where she will receive tutoring, food, and basic dental and medical care in a loving Christian atmosphere. Ayacucho has a history of violence that has left the people’s hearts full of anger as they struggle daily against poverty. The Quechua people are seasonal farmers, earning mere dollars a day. Often, this means children are left unsupervised late into the night, or for weeks at a time, while their parents work on farms. VisionTrust’s local heroes in Ayacucho aim to share the love of Jesus by providing a safe and nurturing environment at the Learning Center for these vulnerable children.
