Keyla lives with her family in the impoverished area of Cruz Blanca. Although Keyla is still very young, she is learning a lot at home and in the learning center. The average home is constructed from cement block and has a tin roof and a dirt floor. She lives in an environment where respiratory problems are a common result of the use of firewood in indoor cooking. Your sponsorship will make it possible for Keyla to attend school and the Learning Center where she will receive tutoring, food and learn of Jesus’ love for her. Keyla will attend Bible classes and learn that she is worth more than the poverty she was born into. She loves drawing and art and being around the other children. Hundreds of Mayan children in the village of Cruz Blanca lack the resources to attend public school. They try to help their families by working at a young age, hindering their chance for a better future. VisionTrust partners with the Cruz Blanca Learning Center to provide these children with tutoring in math, Spanish, reading and vocational skills. The Learning Center serves children five days a week, providing them with a Christian education, nutritious food, and the love of God.
